Oswego McDonald's hosts McTeacher's Night for Boulder Hill Elementary School

Boulder Hill Elementary School in Montgomery held its first McTeacher's Night at the Oswego McDonald's on Douglas Road on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having the teachers work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales to the local school.

On Wednesday, the restaurant was taken over by teachers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for Boulder Hill Elementary School PTA. The students and families were excited to see their teachers and principal behind the counter and throughout the restaurant.

Twenty-eight teachers and staff members worked from the elementary school including Principal Michael Mitchinson and Assistant Principal Kim Hartnett. The McTeacher's jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, selling pies and even dressing up in a pie costume - all duties which were executed with great enthusiasm.

Boulder Hill teacher Melissa Schmidt had a blast dancing around the restaurant in a pie costume and was followed by PTA Vice President Daisy Yuhas. They were encouraging the families to make a donation and receive a delicious hot apple pie.

A special appearance by the Boulder Hill Bobcat made this night extra special for all the families.

A special thank you goes to Rob Janosek who organized the event as well as the PTA board which was present, and all worked the entire night. Boulder Hill Elementary teachers worked hard and with excitement, while the families enjoyed a spectacular evening. The Boulder Hill Elementary PTA plans to use the money raised to go into the PTA general fund to support events at the school.
