Prospect Marching Knights take 3rd in regional competition

The Prospect Marching Knights traveled to St. Louis, Missouri, last month to compete in the Bands of America Super Regional, featuring 65 marching bands from 10 states.

In Class 3A preliminary competition, the PMK put forth an impressive performance, winning the caption award for Outstanding General Effect and taking third place overall behind second-place Lincoln High School from South Dakota and first place Bixby High School from Oklahoma.

Prospect's performance in the Class 3A preliminary rounds was enough to earn the Knights a spot as one of the 14 bands to advance to the finals. The Marching Knights ended the competition with a top 10 finish, taking ninth place. The first-place band was Broken Arrow High School from Oklahoma, a BOA Grand Champion and a perennial favorite.

Meanwhile, the Rolling Meadows Marching Mustangs also finished another very successful marching competition season.

At their final competition last month in the Sandwich Renegade Music Fest, the band took first place in Class AA, along with Best Winds, Best Color Guard, and Best Drum Majors.

Earlier in the month, the Marching Mustangs competed at the Robert Morris University Marching Contest and took first place in Class AA, along with Best Winds, Best Percussion, Best Color Guard and Best Visual.
