Free planning seminar for parents of children with lifelong disabilities

Please join us for a free seminar which will provide practical advice and recommendations for parents or professionals who are concerned about where a person challenged with a disability will live when the primary caregiver dies or how the family's resources can be used to maximize the quality of life the individual will enjoy.

It will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Holiday Inn Itasca, 860 W. Irving Park Road.

The presenter Nancy Spain, Attorney at Law, Spain, Spain & Varnet P.C., will discuss:

• How to maximize government resources and private funds to enable the individual to live as full and independent a life as possible.

• Eligibility requirements for government benefits programs.

• Preserving eligibility for government benefits.

• How employment affects Supplemental Security, Income and Social Security Disability, and guardianship and less intrusive alternatives to guardianship.

There is no charge for the program, but advance registration is required.
