Emergency Rescue Team Leader to Speak, Friday

Gregg Heineman, team leader for the Southwest Lake County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be speaking at the lunch meeting of Lake Zurich Rotary Club on Friday. CERT is is a group of volunteers trained to aid first responders in situations where emergency services are already stretched to the limit. Among the services they provide is search and rescue, traffic control, first aid, and victim removal.

Gregg is a resident of Hawthorn Woods and the owner of Conway Imports, Inc., a five-generation family business in food service. "I got involved with CERT after 9/11," Gregg says. "I wanted to do something to give back to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice on that day and to support those people who keep my family and community safe on a daily basis."

The Lake Zurich Rotary Club meets on Fridays at 12:15 at the Foglia YMCA, 1025 N. Old McHenry Road, Lower Level, Lake Zurich. Area residents interested in community service are invited to attend. Lunch is no charge for guests. Please contact lzrotary@gmail.com for more information.
