Harlem Wizards return to West Aurora High Oct. 20

The Harlem Wizards are coming back to West Aurora High School at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, in the gymnasium, 1201 W. New York St. in Aurora.

The Harlem Wizards will bring their team back to West Aurora to compete against the "District 129 Blackhawks," a team of teachers and administrators from West Aurora School District 129, for a two-hour game.

The Harlem Wizards brand of "Trick Hoops & Alley Oops" entertainment basketball has been packing gyms across the globe for more than 50 years. Throughout the game, fans will experience a magical display of tricks, coordinated ballhandling, fancy passing and aerodynamic athleticism combined with high-energy comedy and audience interaction.

The event is again being hosted by the Goodwin Elementary PTO as their largest fundraiser for the 2017-18 school year. Funds raised from the event will go toward programs and activities that directly benefit the students and their educational experience. Additionally, Goodwin has enlisted the help of many District 129 school to sell tickets and will share the revenue from the event benefiting all schools participating in the district.

Brian LoCicero, Goodwin PTO co-president, shares, "After last year's successful event, the Wizards return with a new team and new routines. We can't wait to see what they have in store for us this time."

Tickets are on sale now at tinyurl.com/wizards2017 and through each school in the district. Cost is $10 for students and children; admission for children under age 3 are free. Adult tickets are $12 reserved, center court section, and $35 courtside.
