Saint Viator Open House Set for October 22 and 23

Saint Viator High School, a Catholic college preparatory high school in Arlington Heights will host its annual Open House on October 22nd and 23rd. The event is open to all prospective students in grades 5 through 8 and their families.

"We are operating on a new calendar this year so open house is occurring several weeks earlier than usual," said Saint Viator Director of Recruitment Jason Kuffel (SVHS '99). "We had a great turn-out last year and look forward to a busy two days this October."

The Open House will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday the 22nd and from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Monday the 23rd. Registration is preferred as it greatly accelerates the check-in for students at the event. Families can register at www.saintviator.com.

"The open house provides a great opportunity for students and their families to learn about Saint Viator High School and to see if our environment is the right fit for them," said Kuffel. Prospective students will be taken on a personal tour of the school by a current Saint Viator student, and throughout the tour will have the opportunity to meet the administration, faculty members, alumni, and coaches and leaders of many of the athletic teams and student organizations at the school. "Our open house is designed to allow future Lions and their parents to ask all the questions they want and get a first-hand look at everything from our facilities to academic and social opportunities," said Kuffel.

While current 8th grade students make up the majority of attendees, younger students are encouraged to attend as well. "We know that choosing a high school is a critical decision for many of these families and there is a lot of time needed for evaluation and consideration. Having students in 7th or 6th, and even 5th grade start thinking about their choice early on is important and we welcome their participation," said Kuffel.

At the Open House students can also learn about Shadow Day opportunities, get information on transportation and tuition assistance, and pick-up information on other key dates including the entrance exam test date.
