Refuge For Women presents 'A Visit With Amy Carmichael' Nov. 4

Refuge for Women, an aftercare home for trafficked and exploited women, invites you special fall fundraising event from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Hosanna! Lutheran Church, 36W925 Red Gate Road, St. Charles.

Join them for a dramatic portrayal on the life of Amy Carmichael. This one-woman drama, presented by author, dramatist and women's speaker Maggie Rowe, depicts the life and words of Amy Carmichael, a missionary in India.

Born in Northern Ireland in 1867, she served the people of India as a missionary for over 50 years. Her deepest desire was to share Jesus' love with the local people. She established the Dohnavur Fellowship, an orphanage to save these young girls and boys from abuse. The Dohnavur Fellowship is still in operation today and has grown to include schools and a free medical clinic.

Carmichael was one of the early heroes to those caught up in sex trafficking and Refuge for Women is proud to honor this early sex trafficking abolitionist by presenting this program.

Enjoy a light breakfast, door prizes, "A Visit with Amy Carmichael," and a presentation on the restorative, healing work of Refuge for Women.

Tickets to this event are complimentary. An opportunity to give to Refuge for Women will be presented.
