The Festival Chorus Gets Ready for October 14 Wine Tasting Fundraiser

Varieties of wine? Check! Interesting craft beers? Check! Various sweet and savory snacks to complement the tastings? Check! What a delicious and fun way to spend the evening of Saturday, Oct. 14, and support The Festival Chorus, too. The event is set for 7 to 9:30 p.m., at Plum Grove Banquet Hall, 4001 Park Drive, in Palatine. Cost is $30 in advance and $40 at the door.

This wine and craft beer tasting is the 14th such fundraiser for The Festival Chorus, and each year it gets better. The addition of a craft beer station in addition to three wine stations provides a wide variety of libations for all taste buds. A host of wine gift baskets will be raffled.

Affiliated with Harper College, The Festival Chorus is celebrating 52 years performing in the community. The Christmas Concert, with accompaniment by a professional orchestra, will be taking place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, in the Harper Performing Arts Center. The next evening selections from the concert accompanied by piano, will be performed for the residents of The Lutheran Home for the Aged. On Sunday, Dec. 10, the entire concert with piano accompaniment will take place at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Arlington Heights for a freewill offering.

Fundraisers like the upcoming wine and craft beer tasting help keep The Festival Chorus able to perform for the community. For more information about the wine tasting and other chorus events, please visit the website www.festivalchorus.org.
