Constitution Week Display at Arlington Heights Memorial Library

Members of the Eli Skinner Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution proudly display their Constitution Week Showcase, which is in the first floor lobby of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library through September. September 17, 2017 marks the 230th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution of the United States of America. The Daughters of the American Revolution petitioned Congress in 1955 to set aside September 17 through 23 annually to be dedicated for the observance of Constitution Week, which became public law in 1956. The DAR is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization that continues to promote patriotism, preserving American history and education.
