The Barrington Area Council on Aging will host "When I'm 64," an educational workshop that includes financial planning and Medicare preparation, Mondays, Sept. 11,18 and 25 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Barrington Are Library, 505 N. Northwest Highway, Barrington.
"Medicare benefits begin after 64 and this workshop will help you plan accordingly," said BACOA Executive Director Joyce Palmquist. "We'll cover the basics of Medicare and Social Security and other financial topics of concern for transitioning adults."
The Sept. 11 workshop will feature Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital's Sue Grossinger, a senior services coordinator, who will address how social security interfaces with Medicare and exactly what Medicare will mean for an individual.
The Sept. 18 program will be hosted by Marsha Werner, vice president of investments for Raymond James & Associates, Inc. Werner will address how to assess your unique financial situation and how to evaluate your individual life's plan.
The Sept. 25 program will feature Nancy Anderson Ekers, a local insurance agent, who will address the need for Medicare supplementation and Medicare Advantage Plans.
