FIA organizes Indian flag hoisting event ceremony

Federation of Indian Associations is organizing a fabulous flag hoisting ceremony in honor of India's Independence Day Anniversary on August 12, 2017 (Saturday) at Hanover Township, 250 S. IL 59, Bartlett, at 10 AM, and it will end at 12:30 PM. The event has the collaboration of Bhartiya Senior Citizens of Chicago and the support of several community organizations. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free to the public.

 

Expected dignitaries include Consul General Neeta Bhushan, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, State Senators Laura Murphy Cristina Castro, State Representative Fred Crespo, mayors, village presidents, township officials, and community leaders.

Expressing his excitement, Sunil Shah, FIA founder President hopes the event will be a trend setting for the Indian community. "We are embedding our heritage into mainstream," he asserted.

Famous Bollywood artist Aishwarya Majmudar will provide extra glittering glamour to the event.

Majmudar will also be performing at FIA's grand community event organized in celebration of India's Independence Day festivities, scheduled on August 11 (Friday), at Jain Mandir, 435 N. IL 59, Bartlett. The dinner event will start at 6 PM. The event is also used to raise charitable funds for Bhartiya Senior Citizens of Chicago, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Haribhai Patel, President of BSC, hopes to see hundreds of guests to appreciate the organization's pioneering efforts for the benefits of senior citizens. "We are the voices of thousands of our seniors and work for them on a regular basis," Patel vowed.

FIA will also hold a gala Diwali event on Oct. 1, at Renaissance Convention Center in Schaumburg, featuring famous Bollywood singing sensation Richa Sharma.
