McTeacher's NIght for Euclid Elementary School of District 26

Euclid Elementary School of District 26 in Mt. Prospect held their third annual McTeacher's Night at the Mt. Prospect McDonald's on Rand Road on Thursday, May 18. A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales to the local school.

On Thursday, the restaurant was taken over by teachers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for Euclid Elementary School. The students and families were excited to see their teachers and principal behind the counter and throughout the restaurant.

Forty-seven teachers worked from the elementary school, including Principal Laura Gammon. The McTeacher's jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, selling pies and even dressing up in a pie costume--all duties which were executed with great enthusiasm.

Euclid teachers Diane Leith and Jackie Pasillas had a blast dancing around the restaurant in a pie costume. They were encouraging the families to make a donation and receive a delicious hot apple pie.

Ronald McDonald stopped by to enjoy the festivities and meet the students and staff members from Euclid Elementary School. The students enjoyed getting their picture taken and giving Ronald McDonald high fives!

Another special guest stopped by the event. Gus from the Windy City Bulls joined the fun at the McTeacher's Night by dancing with the students and teachers.

A special thank you goes to EPTC Representative, Susie Makula, who organized the event as well as everyone that worked and attended the event. Euclid teachers worked hard and with excitement, while the families enjoyed a spectacular evening. The Euclid Parent/Teacher Council plan to use the money raised for a new playground at the school.

The PTO raised $1000.00 at the event thanks to all the singing the teachers did for tips. The students donated money to have the teachers sing the theme song over and over!
