West Chicago High to stage 'The Addams Family'

Wego Drama at West Chicago Community High School continues its 2016-17 season with the comedic musical "The Addams Family."

Performances begin at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 5 and 6, at the high school, 326 Joliet St., West Chicago. The story is based on the cartoons of Charles Addams and the 1960s television series.

In the show, Wednesday Addams has fallen in love with a man from a respectable family but hasn't yet introduced him to her parents. She tells her father about her romance, but begs him not to tell her mother, putting Gomez Addams in a spot where he has to keep a secret from his wife, Morticia.

And then the Addams family hosts a dinner for Wednesday's new boyfriend and his parents.
