May 12 reception to open Elgin Academy art exhibit

The community is invited to an opening reception featuring artwork produced by seniors from Elgin Academy's fine arts department from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 12, at Side Street Studio Arts in Elgin. Meet the artists and enjoy live music by Elgin Academy students.

Student artwork will be on display through May 21 at the gallery, 15 Ziegler Court in Elgin.


Admission is free. Refreshments will be served. Select pieces will be available for sale.

The public is welcome to attend.

Elgin Academy is a preschool to 12th grade learning community at 350 Park St., atop the hill in downtown Elgin.

Side Street Studio Arts was founded in 2013 by Melvin and Erin Rehberg as an outlet for the Elgin arts scene. Currently under the direction of Amanda Harris, Roberto Martinez, Melvin, and Rehberg, Side Street's provides educational and creative resources and an accessible space, run by artists.
