Hinsdale Central to stage 'The Little Mermaid'

Hinsdale Central High School is presenting Disney's "The Little Mermaid" as its spring musical.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. Friday, April 21, and noon and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 22, in the school's auditorium at 5500 S. Grant St., Hinsdale.

The Saturday matinee will be immediately followed by an Under the Sea party in the cafeteria. For the party, the cafeteria will be transformed with an underwater theme and will include a meet-and-greet with some of the characters, a backstage tour, goody bags and light refreshments.

Student tickets are $10 and adult tickets are $15 for the evening shows. All matinee tickets are $15. Tickets can be purchased at ticketpeak.com/hcdrama.

"'The Little Mermaid' was one of the first Disney movies I saw as a kid," musical director Dominico Maniscalco said. "To have the opportunity to put on the stage adaptation of Disney's most famous mermaid is quite amazing.

"From the talent of the cast, all the way to the craftsmanship of our technical director and crew, to the vocal, dance, musical talents of our choreographer, and vocal and music conductors, working with everyone has been an absolute joy," he continued.

"This show really highlights the talented students we have in our community."
