Windy City Bulls surge beat Capital City
The Windy City Bulls, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, stormed back to erase a 15-point deficit and grab a 103-101 victory over the Capital City Go-Go in Washington D.C. Monday night.
Devon Dotson knocked down the eventual game-winner to put the Bulls ahead with one second left on the clock before swatting the Go-Go's last-second attempt. Dotson's clutch bucket gave him 21 points to go along with 7 assists and 5 steals - all of which were game-high marks.
The Bulls struggled early on, with Capital City holding a 15-point lead late in the second quarter. Windy City trailed 53-39 at halftime but slowly began chipping away at the lead in the third quarter.
Windy City started the third period on a 16-6 run to cut the deficit to 4 points with 6:16 left in the quarter, but Capital City responded with an 8-0 stretch to bump its lead back to double digits. But the Bulls were far from finished, ending the period on a 17-3 run to grab the lead and take back the momentum heading into the final 12 minutes.
The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth affair, featuring four lead changes and seven ties. The Go-Go took control at the beginning of the period, jumping out to a seven-point advantage with 6:03 left to play.
But Windy City's Scottie Lindsey knocked down a trio of three-pointers in a span of less than two minutes to help turn the tide for the Bulls. In total, Lindsey scored 12 points in the quarter on 4-for-5 shooting from 3-point territory.
Even with Lindsey's hot shooting, the Bulls and Go-Go found themselves tied with 20 seconds remaining before Dotson's heroics sealed the victory for Windy City.
Lindsey finished with 16 points for the Bulls. Marko Simonovic and Kerwin Roach II each scored 15 points for Windy City, while Simonovic added a team-high 11 rebounds. Bryce Alford came off the bench to provide 14 points for the Bulls. Ethan Thompson was the sixth Windy City player in double figures, ending with 10 points.
Isaiah Todd led the Go-Go with 20 points. Capital City's Greg Monroe notched a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
The Bulls picked up their third win of the regular season, rising to a 3-5 record. Meanwhile, the loss drops the Go-Go down to 5-3 on the season.
