Sox's Burger comes back swinging at Class AAA Charlotte

Well rested after missing the last three seasons, Jake Burger has quickly gotten back into the swing with Class AAA Charlotte.

Burger wasn't able to play last year after COVID-19 shut down minor-league baseball, and he was out in 2018-19 with an Achilles injury.

Back this season, the third baseman homered in three straight games for Charlotte heading into Thursday's play.

"What he is right now in 2021, he's a legitimate prospect," manager Tony La Russa said. "Toward the end of spring (training), in some of those B games, we played against the Dodgers and the Dodgers were having first-rate pitching. He was having great at-bats. He's a major-leaguer on the come."
