Lynn set for return to White Sox rotation on Saturday

Eligible to come off the injured list Tuesday, Lance Lynn (strained right trapezius) is scheduled to throw in the bullpen Wednesday and start against the Indians Saturday at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Dallas Keuchel is set to start Friday against the Indians.

As for Michael Kopech, who was impressive in Sunday's start against the Rangers, he is likely going to be rested until this weekend after throwing 87 pitches.

When he is back on the mound, it's likely to be in a relief role.

"I just think at this point, especially the first half of the season, without a crystal ball and there is none, when he's rested you watch the game and see if it makes sense when to use him and then you go from there," manager Tony La Russa said. "The ideal thing is whenever this season ends that you have a healthy Michael Kopech and we're going to do our best to be smart about it with how we use him."

Kopech, who struck out 10 and allowed 1 run in 5 innings vs. Texas, opted out last year and missed the 2019 season recovering from Tommy John surgery.
