'Field of Dreams' 2: Sox vs. Yanks Aug. 12 in Iowa

The "Field of Dreams" game is back on for 2021, and the White Sox are hoping to finally make it to Iowa for the showcase game.

Major League Baseball announced the Sox and Yankees are scheduled to play an Aug. 12 game in Dyersville, Iowa, where the classic movie "Field of Dreams" was filmed.

The White Sox were supposed to play New York in Iowa this past season, but that was canceled due to COVID-19 travel concerns for the Yankees.

The St. Louis Cardinals were later selected to replace New York in the game, but that was also scrapped and tentatively rescheduled for next season.

If all goes well, the Sox and Yankees will play the "Field of Dreams" game in front of a nationally-televised audience on FOX.

MLB is hoping fans will be able to watch at the 8,000-seat stadium that was constructed in a cornfield, but that will be evaluated in the coming months.
