Clubhouse Chatter: Who has the best (and worst) uniform in sports

What our Sports staff has to say while waiting for the games to resume.

Best-looking uniform should be unanimous: Blackhawks. Red or white. The four feathers alone make for a great logo. The Cubs' blue, pajama-top home jersey isn't the worst, but I don't like it. Rather, for an alternative home jersey, give me white, sleeveless, blue pinstripes.

Love 'em or hate 'em, the New York Yankees' home uniform is the best in sports. Clean, classic and basically unchanged since 1915.

- Jerry Fitzpatrick

New York Yankees and their famous pinstripes. Just a tradition-filled uniform that has stood the test of time. When you see the uniform, you know exactly what team you are watching. Can't say any team has the worst uniform. Whatever it is, you're not going to like about it, someone will find good in it.

Best: Miami Dolphins - great color palette for that city and fun colors in general. Worst: Cleveland Browns - terrible color palette!

- Patricia Babcock McGraw

In major league baseball, it's tough to top tradition, so the Yankees and Dodgers still head the best-dressed list. On the flip side, not sure what's going on with the Diamondbacks' uniforms. They are hideous.

Best: New York Yankees. It doesn't get any more iconic than the Yanks' pinstripes. Worst: The Cleveland Browns. Ugly and boring.

- John Dietz

I love the Oakland, now Las Vegas Raiders. Black and silver rocks. Worst? The University of Oregon. Those things are just plain ugly.

- John Radtke

The Blackhawks' white jersey (it used to be the home jersey) is certainly the best uniform of the recent past and perhaps of all time. The worst is the all lime green concoction occasionally worn by the Seattle Seahawks. About 10 years ago they had a lime green jersey with slate gray sleeves and pants. That was OK. But the all lime (jerseys, pants, sock) was about as bad as the back-in-the day Vancouver Canucks.
