Spring training postcard: Bossard getting ready to rake in 54th season with Sox

GLENDALE, Ariz. - Groundskeepers need spring training, too.

Even the great ones, like White Sox legend Roger Bossard.

During the regular season, Bossard deals with the grass and dirt at Guaranteed Rate Field.

Down here at Camelback Ranch, there is a lot more watering to do with so little rain.

In Chicago or Arizona, Bossard gets the job done.

He'll soon be back on the South Side for his 54th year as the Sox's groundskeeper, and Bossard is overdue for some better weather.

In April of 2018, Bossard and his crew removed almost 300 tons of snow and the White Sox were able to play a game against the Tigers.

Last year, Bossard and his crew put down a new infield in May after 115,000 gallons of water fell during the worst in a series of rainstorms.
