Libertyville clinches share of NSC title; Frank nets 1,500th point

Lauren Huber scored 15 points, and Libertyville's girls basketball team defeated visiting Waukegan 73-44 on Tuesday night to clinch a share of the North Suburban Conference championship.

It was the 17th win in a row for the Wildcats (21-4, 11-1), who can capture the conference title outright for the second year in a row with a home win against Lake Zurich on Friday night.

Lydia Crow added 10 points for the Wildcats.

Waukegan fell to 1-11 in the NSC.

Zion-Benton 50, Mundelein 24: Morgan Frank scored the 1,500th point of her four-year varsity career for the visiting Mustangs in their North Suburban Conference loss.

Frank, who also had 6 rebounds, has 1,504 points. Mundelein fell to 7-20 and 2-10 in the NSC, while Zion-Benton improved to 14-11 and 6-5.

Stevenson 45, Lake Zurich 23: Ava Bardic scored 21 points, and the host Patriots won in North Suburban Conference action.

Stevenson (22-7, 8-4) held Lake Zurich (14-10, 7-4) scoreless in the first and third quarters.

Deerfield 49, Grayslake North 35: The visiting Knights overcame a 16-point deficit to get within 6 late in the game before free throws widened the margin at the end.

"I was proud of how we came back, but give Deerfield credit for making their free throws at the end," Grayslake North coach Roger Lass said.

Peyton Gerdes had 18 points for the Knights (8-19), and Grace Wamser added 7. Sarina Low and Meghan Delahunty led the comeback defensively, Lass said.

Lake Forest 46, Warren 40: The host Scouts won on Senior Night to improve to 21-8 and 9-3 in the North Suburban Conference.

Halle Douglass had 27 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocks.'
