Mundelein advances to title game at Collinsville

Mundelein's boys basketball team is headed to the championship game of Collinsville's 36th annual Prairie Farms Holiday Classic.

The Mustangs needed overtime Saturday night to keep their perfect season intact, as they outlasted Lincoln 61-50 to improve to 13-0 and 3-0 in the tournament.

Scottie Ebube led the way for Mundelein with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. Conor Enright added 16 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds for the Mustangs, who will play for the title at 7:30 p.m. Monday against either Collinsville or Springfield Southeast.

Trey Baker had 15 points and 4 rebounds in the win, and Jack Bikus contributed 7 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists.

Mundelein 55, O'Fallon 51: At Collinsville, Scottie Ebube had 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 blocks, and the Mustangs won their first game of the day to improve to 12-0 and 2-0 in the tournament.

Conor Enright added 16 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Mundelein also received 8 points from Trey Baker and 7 from Jack Bikus.

Wauconda 86, Rockford Christian 53: At Marengo, brothers Garrison and Donovan Carter combined for 53 points and eight 3-pointers, and the Bulldogs captured third place in the 70th annual E.C. Nichols tournament.

Garrison Carter had a career-high 28 points (four 3s) and 9 rebounds. Donovan Carter had 25 points (four 3s) and 6 rebounds. Griffin Daun added 14 points for Wauconda (9-3).

Round Lake 80, Woodstock North 58: At Marengo, Kevonne Peterson scored 22 points, as the Panthers won their finale in the 70th annual E.C. Nichols tournament.

Deveauntay McNeal (16 points), Isaiah Nixon (12) and Hakim Williams (12) also scored in double figures for Round Lake (10-3), which bettered its win total from last season.

Marian Catholic 53, Stevenson 48: At Hinsdale Central, the Patriots dropped the third-place game, giving them their second loss in as many nights in the tournament.

R.J. Holmes had 11 points and 13 rebounds for Stevenson (11-3, 2-2 tourney). John Ittounas also had 11 points for the Patriots, Matthew Ambrose scored 10 (two 2-pointers), and Matt Kaznikov finished with 9.

St. Anthony 36, Antioch 33: At Effingham, the Sequoits dropped their second game in the Christmas Classic.

Antioch (4-5, 1-2 tourney) trailed 17-10 after one quarter, 19-14 at halftime and 24-23 after three.

Streamwood 87, Grant 80: At Jacobs, the Bulldogs lost in the Consolation B championship game, despite freshman Chad Kiesgen's 22 points and Mikal Ashley's 20.

Luke Bedrosian added 16 points for Grant (4-10, 2-3 tournament), which also received 9 points apiece from RJ Holm and Carter Kaye.

Ashley was a unanimous selection to the all-tournament team for Grant.

Barrington 48, Grayslake Central 35: At Jacobs, the Rams lost in the Consolation A championship game.

Dillan Dumanlang and Ethan Boelens led Grayslake Central with 9 and 8 points, respectively. Grant Hardy and Daniel Rogers were named to the all-tournament team for the Rams (5-8, 3-2 tournament).

Lakes 46, Addison Trail 38: At Maine East, Aidan Sage scored 22 points, as the Eagles won their second game in the tournament.

Lakes (5-7, 2-1 tourney) will wrap up play at 3 p.m. Monday against Leyden in the fifth-place game.

Leyden 45, Vernon Hills 44: At Maine East, the Cougars dropped a back-and-fourth game to fall to 1-2 in the tournament.

Aiden Isaacson had 7 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for Vernon Hills, while Jack Barszcz led all scorers with 23 points.

Vernon Hills concludes the tournament at 1:30 p.m. Monday against Addison Trail in the seventh-place game.

Moline 37, Lake Zurich 29: At Pekin, the Bears lost the consolation championship game to finish 2-2 in the tournament.

Evan Bajerski had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds for Lake Zurich (5-7). Will Tucker had 7 points, including two 3-pointers.

Oak Park 62, Warren 53: At Pontiac, the Blue Devils lost their final game in the 89th holiday tournament.

Adnan Sarancic had 21 points and 13 rebounds for Warren (4-8, 1-2 tourney), which also received 15 points from Jason Langevin. Juan De La Cruz scored 9 points for Warren. Sarancic made three 3-pointers.

Belleville West 43, Carmel 34: At Centralia, the Corsairs wrapped up the tournament with their second loss in a row.

Syone Usma-Harper scored 15 points, including three 3-pointers, for Carmel (6-7, 1-2 tourney). Kimahri Wilson had 11 points (two 3s).

Lake Forest 54, Naperville North 50: At York, Jack Malloy scored 14 points to lead a balanced attack for the Scouts.

Grant Kaus added 12 points and 5 assists for Lake Forest, and Asa Thomas had 10 points. The Scouts return to action in the Jack Tosh Holiday Classic at 7:30 p.m. Monday against Palatine.
