Tierney clicks for 23 in Conant's win

Conant junior Isabella Tierney scored 19 of her game-high 23 points in the first half to help the Cougars build a 37-28 lead en route to a 62-52 win over Niles West on Tuesday night.

The win evened Conant's record at 1-1 in the York tournament in Elmhurst.

Tierney's big first half included five 3-point baskets.

Also reaching double figures for coach Todd Strauch's Cougars were Neeha Katuturu (13 points) and Rachel Kutella (10).

Conant meets Downers Grove South at 7 p.m. on Thursday when the tourney resumes.

St. Charles N. 55, Wheeling 30: Senior guard Chloe Drozdz led Wheeling with 9 points as the Wildcats opened their season at the Hoffman Estates tournament.
