Boys golf: Buffalo Grove's Lee tied for 9th at state

Buffalo Grove sophomore Dori Lee had the best individual day of any Northwest suburbs boys golfer at the Class 3A state finals Friday in Bloomington.

Lee shot a 5-over par 74 at The Den at Fox Creek and enters Saturday's final round tied for ninth place.

Other individuals competing from the Northwest suburbs included Hersey junior Henry Quinn (76, tied for 15th), Conant junior Nikko Ganas (79), Fremd senior Ryan Higgins (82) and Conant senior Sunny Sivarathri (94).

Glenbard West sophomore John Wild shot a 3-under 69 for the individual lead.

In the team standings after the first round, Glenbrook North has the lead with a 10-over 298. Glenbard West is 2 shots back at 302 and New Trier stands in third place with a 304.

Barrington shot a 326 and is in eighth place.

Dominic Scaletta led the Broncos on Friday with a 77, while Sean Markham shot 78 and Brock Dickson 85. Dylan Dunne and Ian Bouchard each had 86s for the Broncos and Matthew Lee shot an 88.

In the Class 2A tournament at Weibring Golf Course in Normal, St. Viator's Jack Lynch shot an 86.
