Girls volleyball: Harvest Christian celebrates senior night with win

Harvest Christian defeated Parkview 25-13, 25-20 on its senior night Thursday.

The Lions (23-10) cruised to the nonconference victory, led by Hayley Martin with 15 kills and 6 digs. Madison Pfister added 8 kills and 9 digs and Dana Mestey had 28 assists.

Huntley d. Prairie Ridge 25-15, 25-19: The Red Raiders (24-4, 15-1) picked up a win in the Fox Valley Conference in 2 sets to maintain their one-game lead over Crystal Lake Central.

Emma Konie led Huntley with 9 kills and 8 digs and Taylor Jakubowski finished with 15 assists.

Jacobs d. Dundee-Crown 25-15, 25-17: Makena Wesol led the Chargers (6-16, 3-13) with 8 kills and 6 digs. Natalia Smiech finished with 6 kills and 4 digs and Jenna Brown added 13 assists for Dundee-Crown.

CL South d. Crystal Lake Central 25-7, 25-18: The Gators (8-8, 15-11) suffered a tough loss against a crosstown Fox Valley opponent. Jenna Rhoades and Sam Wesoly led the CL South offense with 14 assists and 8 kills, respectively. Meg Landon had 3 blocks and Kelly Carlson had 6 digs to lead the defense.

Wheaton Academy d. Batavia 25-13, 25-22: The Bulldogs (8-20) played well on defense, especially in the second set, but couldn't quite generate the offense needed to beat Wheaton Academy. Lauren Haefer finished with 6 kills and 4 digs for Batavia, Alexis Whelpley had 3 kills and 2 blocks, and Priya Dave' had 13 assists and 7 digs.
