Scouting report: Fire seek 2nd road win in New England

Chicago Fire at New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium, 6:30 p.m.

Streaming: ESPN+

Scouting the Fire: The 10th-place Fire (8-11-9, 33 points) caught a break when midfielder Nico Gaitan's red card last week was rescinded and his suspension for this game was lifted. But that break was offset Friday when the league extended Aleksandar Katai's suspension for this game. The Fire has won three of four games in August, but the team still has just one road win this season.

Scouting the New England Revolution: The sixth-place Revolution (9-9-8, 35 points) has come on strong since Bruce Arena took over as coach and sporting director in May, going 7-1-6. Carles Gil leads the team with 9 goals and 11 assists. The Fire can jump past the Revs in the standings with a win.

Next: at Columbus Crew SC at MAPFRE Stadium, Aug. 31, 6:30 p.m.
