At a glance: This is the first meeting of the season between the clubs. The Cubs were 6-1 against the Mets last season. The series opener will be a battle of emergency starters. Chatwood fills in for Kyle Hendricks (shoulder), and Lockett will come up from the minor leagues to fill in for Noah Syndergaard (hamstring). The Mets have been struggling to reach .500.
