Baseball: Warrener's game-winner lifts Rolling Meadows over Wheeling

Javonte Warrener's single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored Sean Nolan, who had walked, with the game-winning run Wednesday as Rolling Meadows notched a 5-4 Mid-Suburban East baseball win over Wheeling.

Warrener had 3 hits and 2 RBI for the Mustangs (3-13, 2-5) while Jacob Johnson-Wright (RBI) and Jermaine Salcedo added 2 hits each to make a winner out of relief pitcher Alex Lazes.

Cade Zalewski had 2 hits and 2 RBI and Andy Shover a double for Wheeling (9-10, 4-4).

Conant 4, Hoffman Estates 3: Keegan Brandt had 2 hits with a double and an RBI to lead the Cougars (5-14, 2-6) to the MSL West win. Ryan Schar and Jon Bustamante added 2 hits each for Conant and Christian Seegers had 2 RBI. Tim Evans picked up the win in relief and Luke Shaw recorded the save. Jordan Acosta had 2 hits for Hoffman (1-16-2, 0-7).

Elk Grove 7, Prospect 0: Ryne Singsank allowed just 3 hits over 6⅔ innings with 12 strikeouts and 6 walks as the Grens (8-8, 5-2) won in the MSL East. Zach Schwartz (2 RBI) and Singsank each had 2 hits with a double while Xander Rojahn added 2 doubles and an RBI for EG. Ed Brancato, Tyler Priessing and Tyler Ciulla each had a hit for Prospect (9-10-1, 4-4).

Palatine 8, Schaumburg 3: Jake Andersen (RBI), Shailan Rajpurkar (2 RBI), Luka Popovic (RBI) and Jacob Holstrom (RBI) each had 2 hits for Palatine (11-10-1, 4-4) in its MSL West win. Tyler Pecson earned the win on the mound, allowing 3 hits with 6 strikeouts and 3 walks. Yuki Sato had a double for Schaumburg (7-10, 3-4).

Leyden 14, Proviso East 1: Spencer Messin and Uli Hernandez combined on a no-hitter for Leyden (9-8) in its West Suburban Gold win. Leading the Eagles at the plate were Alex Duarte (2 hits, 2B), Christian Tokarz (2 hits, 2B, RBI), Cole Wilson (2 hits, 2B, 2 RBI), Max Gonzalez (2 RBI) and Danny Determann (2 hits, 2B, 3 RBI), Charlie Martini (2B, 2 RBI). Messina and Hernandez each had a double as well.
