Baseball: Priessing, Prospect upend Elk Grove

Tyler Priessing fired a 3-hitter Monday as Prospect's baseball team beat the weather and Elk Grove, 4-0, in Mid-Suburban East action.

Priessing struck out four and walked one in the complete game effort.

Leading the Knights (8-9-1, 3-3) at the plate were Matt McAleer (2 hits, 2B, RBI), Dan Morgan (2 hits, 2B) and Ed Brancato (2B).

Zach Schwartz had 2 hits for Elk Grove (7-8, 4-2).

Rolling Meadows 5, Wheeling 4: Jacob Johnson-Wright had a double and 2 RBI for Meadows (3-13, 1-5) in an MSL East game called due to weather in the top of the sixth inning with Wheeling at bat. Eric Konrath, Cade Zalewski and Andy Shover each had doubles for Wheeling (8-9, 3-3).

Notre Dame 4, St. Viator 1: Kevin Wilhite and Casey Hintz each had 2 hits for St. Viator (10-5) in its East Suburban Catholic loss.

Suspended games: Three MSL games were suspended by weather - Buffalo Grove 8, Hersey 2 after 3½ innings; Conant 5, Hoffman Estates 0 after 2½ innings and Schaumburg 8, Palatine 7 after 2½ innings.
