Softball: Bower fans 12 in Huntley's win

Briana Bower fired a 2-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts, leading Huntley to an 11-0 Fox Valley Conference win over McHenry on Friday.

Reese Hunkins and Grace Kutz both went 3-for-3 to lead a 15-hit attack for the Red Raiders (12-3). Kendra Mitchell and Sofia Tenuta added 2 hits.

Burlington Central 6, Johnsburg 2: The Rockets (8-1) got on the board in the second inning with an RBI double by Rylie Duval and then tallied a second run when she stole home.

An inside-the-park home run by Reilie Gardner in the third made the score 3-1 and the Rockets added 3 more in the fifth. Gardner, Alisyn Catenacci and Maissie Rabe all managed multiple hits. Catenacci earned the win, going 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and striking out 11.

Aurora Central Catholic 10, Bishop McNamara 5: Dani Brown went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI as the Chargers improved to 14-1. Alheli Velazquez was 2-for-3 with 3 runs.

Ridgewood 12, Rosary 4: Peyton Dillon, Emily Hurst and Angelina Tinerella all had 2 hits for the Royals.

Libertyville 8, Cary-Grove 1: Emma Hill drove in the only run for the Trojans (4-4) who managed only 4 hits.
