Baseball: Glenbard North, Fenton, Waubonsie Valley win

Glenbard North 6, St. Charles East 5:

Spencer Salamone gutted out the complete-game victory for the Panthers (7-4, 1-2) in the DuKane Conference. Angelo Cusumano and Michael Vazquez had 2 RBI apiece.


Fenton 3, Chicago Christian 2:

The Bison (3-7) scored all their runs in the top of the fourth inning. Andrew Pietrucha and Matthew Janovsky each drove in runs. Michael Rago pitched into the fifth inning to get the win. Aidan Kress earned the save.

Waubonsie Valley 4, Naperville North 3:

The Warriors (3-9, 1-1) rallied to victory in the DuPage Valley as Dan Esch and Ivanosky Wong singled home the tying and go-ahead runs in the top of the seventh inning. Alex Lemmons closed out the complete-game win. Quinn Sheehan, Mike Bruebach and Cliff Vickers had 2 hits for Naperville North (4-3, 0-1).

Glenbard West 6, Hinsdale Central 2:

The Hilltoppers (6-4, 4-1) swept in the West Suburban Silver, breaking a 2-2 tie with a run in the fourth inning and 3 runs in the fifth. Peter Schilling pitched 6 innings for the win. Joe Peraino went 2-for-4 and Gavin Hepner had 2 RBI. Tom Jurack went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Hinsdale Central (3-9, 1-5).

Metea Valley 8, Naperville Central 1:

Brandon Sfikas pitched a 3-hitter with 10 strikeouts as the Mustangs (13-0, 2-0) won in the DuPage Valley. Jake Kmiecik, Spencer Collins and Dylan Wrona had 2 hits apiece.

Willowbrook 3, Morton 2:

The Warriors (10-3, 6-0) swept their second straight West Suburban Gold series. Joey Guthrie pitched 4 innings for the win and Jack Nilles added 3 innings for the save.

Lake Park 7, Batavia 4:

The Lancers (7-4, 2-1) broke open the game with a 4-run top of the sixth to take two of three in the DuKane Conference series. Joe Harrington went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI. Winning pitcher Nick Aehlert scattered 6 hits.

Lisle 6, Peotone 1:

Complete-game winning pitcher Damian Guerrero tossed a 4-hitter with 4 strikeouts in the Interstate Eight win for the Lions (9-4, 3-0). Dylan Laue doubled, homered and drove in all 5 runs.

Wheaton Academy 6, Guerin 3:

The Warriors (10-5) broke out to a 6-0 lead to win the Metro Suburban Conference crossover. Max Martin had 2 hits in support of winning pitcher Marcus Bult.
