Girls soccer: Aurora Central Catholic tops rival Rosary

Alexa Orozco scored a pair of goals leading Aurora Central Catholic to a 4-2 win over Rosary on Monday.

After Rosary took a 1-0 lead, the Chargers (2-1) tied the game at halftime when Tori Lee scored off a MK O'Hare assist.

Orozco gave the Chargers the lead for good in the second half on an Alexia Jones assist. Jones then made it 3-1 when she curved the ball into the net on a corner kick.

After Rosary pulled within 3-2, Orozco completed the scoring by heading the ball into the back of the neck off a Jones corner.

Victoria Opperman made 4 saves for the Chargers.

Cary-Grove 3, Schaumburg 0: Jenna Stayart scored a hat trick for the Trojans in the St. Charles Rose Augscburg-Drach Invitational.

Avery Nielsen and Maggie Mason had assists for the Trojans (3-0-1), who will continue play in the tournament at 5 p.m. Wednesday against St. Charles North. A win would advance them to Saturday's championship game.
