Baseball: Daudelin cleans up for Addison Trail

Addison Trail 6, Downers South 5:

Vince Daudelin's bases-clearing double in the bottom of the seventh inning gave the Blazers (4-2, 1-0) the walk-off victory in the West Suburban Gold. Josh Meglio was the winning pitcher in relief. Nick Daudelin drove in 2 runs. Cole Warehime had 2 RBI for Downers South (1-5, 0-1).

Glenbard North 7, Conant 0:

Michael Betancourt fired 6 scoreless innings for the Panthers (4-2) in nonconference play. Brandon Cole went 2-for-4 with a homer and 2 RBI. Brandon Gonzales also had 2 hits and 2 RBI.

Glenbard South 3, South Elgin 1:

The Raiders (5-3, 1-0) won their Upstate Eight Conference opener behind pitchers Ryan Creevy, Tyler Rush and Jacob Cyrus. Logan Barnick drove in 2 runs.

Hinsdale Central 2, Lyons Twp. 0:

Ayden Head pitched a 2-hitter over 6 innings with 4 strikeouts and a walk for the Red Devils (3-3, 1-0), who won in the West Suburban Silver despite managing 1 hit.

St. Francis 9, Ridgewood 5:

Nick Kosmetatos homered and went the distance on the mound as the Spartans (6-1, 1-0) won their Metro Suburban Blue opener. Trevor Hicks and Zach Radel drove in 2 runs.
