Baseball: Hart's homer caps Stevenson comeback

Isaiah Hart hit the go-ahead home run in a 2-run seventh, and Stevenson's baseball team rallied to beat Yorkville 7-5 at Elam Stadium in Tennessee Thursday.

Down 5-1 in the second, the Patriots stormed back with 6 unanswered runs. Joshua Snider pitched 4⅔ innings in relief to earn the win, allowing 2 runs (0 earned) while striking out five and walking none. Nick Brueckert slammed the down in the seventh for the save. Stevenson's Jake Surane was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Warren 9, Dundee-Crown 4: At Rent One Park in Marion, Casey Cobe went 3-for-3 with a triple, 3 runs scored and an RBI for the Blue Devils.

Mikey Kocen (2-for-4, double, 4 RBI) and Dry Jasnoch (2-for-3) and Gabe Schmitt (1-for-1, home run) also shined offensively for Warren (5-2). Kyle Duenas (2-0) earned the win.

Grant 10, Jacobs 1: At Rent One Park in Marion, the Bulldogs finished up their spring trip with the win, as Carlos Martinez went the distance on the hill.

Grant produced 11 hits and got contributions up and down the lineup. The Bulldogs finished 2-2 on their trip and are now 4-2 overall.

Lemont 4, Vernon Hills 3: In Florida, Alex Yu went 2-for-3 for the Cougars in their loss as part of the Hall of Fame Classic in Fort Lauderdale.

Michael Moore made the start for the Cougars, allowing 2 unearned runs in 4 innings. Josh Liu and Caleb Thomson had RBI for Vernon Hills (5-3).

Libertyville 5, Lakewood 4: In Phoenix, Ariz., Brendan King homered and drove in 2 runs for the Wildcats. David Robertson was 3-for-3.

Connor Lockwood allowed 2 earned runs in 4 innings to earn the save, and Peyton Jennings got the final four outs for the save.
