Girls soccer: VanZanten scores twice as Stevenson wins

Stevenson 3, Nazareth 1: Kalyssa VanZanten scored twice and had an assist, all in the second half, as the host Patriots won the nonconference game.
Gracie Wingfield also scored for Stevenson, which improved to 4-0-1. VanZanten's first goal was on a penalty kick, while her second was assisted by Abby Kalou. Patriots goalies Jenny Staten and Arushi Nair made 5 and 4 saves, respectively.
The game was scoreless at halftime.
"We still have a lot of learning to do and preparation for our conference and playoffs," Stevenson coach PepeJon Chavez said. "Everyone is tough and we have a lot of hard work ahead."
