Girls soccer: Batavia, St. Charles East win nonconference games

Grace Salyers scored the winning goal early in the second half, giving Batavia a 2-1 win over Oswego East on Saturday.

Anna Holcombe scored the Bulldogs' first goal. She also assisted on the game-winning goal, and Zaira Solis assisted on the first-half goal.

Hailey Flannagan made 2 saves in the first half and Aubrey Hahn made 4 saves in the second half for the Bulldogs.

Batavia improved to 3-1-1.

St. Charles East 7, Plainfield North 1: Emma Blankenship started the scoring on an assist by Alondra Carranza, and she also added a goal in the second half with assists from Hannah Miller and Lindsay Rzuszutko.

Renee Unterberg (Miller), Miller (Blankenship) and Elle McCaslin (unassisted) also scored in the first half to give the Saints a 4-1 halftime lead.

Kayla Villa (Miller) and Miller (Renee Unterberg) added second half goals.

Grace Griffin made 2 saves as the Saints improved to 3-1.
