Softball: Catenacci tosses perfect game

Burlington Central's Alisyn Catenacci threw a perfect game to lead the Rockets past Elgin 18-0 on Friday.

Burlington Central scored 11 runs in the third inning. Kate Snow, Catenacci, Abigail Sanders and Reili Gardner drove in runs.

Catenacci pitched three innings, striking out six. Abigail Sensor took the loss for Elgin.

Lauren Knief, Maissie Rabe, Gardner, Hailey Esterly, Sanders, Hanaa Nkhikhssi and Peyton Curtis each collected hits for the Rockets.

Catenacci induced a groundout from Alexia Smith to end the game.

Kaneland 15, Nazareth 1; Knights scored nine runs in the third inning Friday.

Cassidy Motyka, Donatela Sommesi, Hailey Roach and Lauren Callahan all drove in runs.

Sommesi hit a leadoff homer in the first inning.

Emilee Erickson earned the victory for the Knights, allowing no runs and 3 hits in 3 innings, striking out four. McKenna Ryan threw two innings to complete the win.
