Baseball: Barrington blanks Prairie Ridge

Nate Holler and Andreas Reaume combined to strike out 16 Prairie Ridge hitters Friday as the Barrington baseball team downed the Wolves 2-0 in a nonconference game.

Barrington (2-1) scored the game's only runs in the bottom of the fifth inning when Rayth Petersen singled and came home on AJ Christoffer's 2-run home run.

Holler worked five innings for the Broncos, allowing 3 hits with 10 Ks and no walks. Reaume threw the final two innings and struck out all six batters he faced.

John Seagrist added 2 hits for Barrington.

Lake Park 8, Hoffman Estates 5: Jim Kliver had a home run and a double for Hoffman in this nonconference loss. Hayden Carlson added a double for the Hawks.
