Waukegan cruises against Grayslake North

Bryant Brown scored a game-high 27 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, and Waukegan's boys basketball team beat the host Knights 74-38 in semifinal action of the Class 4A Grayslake North regional on Wednesday night.

Jordan Brown added 15 points and 6 boards for the third-seeded Bulldogs (26-5), who advance to Friday's 7 p.m. championship game.

Tony Hines led No. 14 Grayslake North (17-13) with 12 points, while Ryan Connolly had 10 points and 8 rebounds.

Bryant Brown, who shot 13 of 18 from the floor with 3 dunks and a 3-pointer, scored 10 points in the opening quarter in helping Waukegan jump out to a 17-7 lead. Brown scored 8 points in the second, as the Bulldogs took a 41-16 advantage into halftime. Waukegan forced Grayslake North into 14 first-half turnovers.

Jaylin Cunningham had 8 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs, and Ja'Veon Taylor contributed 7 points and 9 boards.
