Libertyville's Steinhaus final MVP for 2018-19 season

Josh Steinhaus of Libertyville is this week's Daily Herald boys basketball MVP. Below are the final MVP selections for the 2018-19 season.

Josh Steinhaus, Libertyville: Few high school basketball players will ever play 44 minutes in one game. The senior point guard did and took advantage, scoring a career-high 32 points to lead the Wildcats to a 73-64 win over host Hersey in triple overtime. He never left the court. He poured in 13 points in the final OT. He sank 10 field goals (two 3-pointers) and went 10 of 11 from the stripe.

Jon Kreidler, Prospect: The Knights' 6-foot-4 senior had the best night of his career in leading Prospect to a 63-54 win over Buffalo Grove. He scored a career-high 25 points as Prospect secured its third straight Mid-Suburban League East Division title. The Knights have now won 28 straight MSL East games.

Justin Eagins, Downers Grove South: The Mustangs continued their winning ways - 18 wins in 20 games - thanks in much part to Eagins. The 6-foot-2 senior guard scored a total of 68 points in victories over Morton, Maine West and Willowbrook. Eagins averaged nearly 5 assists and 5 rebounds.

Keenon Cole, Streamwood: This future Northern Illinois Huskie maintained his torrid scoring pace. The 6-foot-7 forward led the Sabres with 22 points in a 73-66 victory over Bartlett. Two days later he poured in 40 points in a 103-92 loss to West Aurora. It was the second 40-point game of the season for Cole, who averages 25.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
