Cherry leads Lakes' upset of North Chicago
Brad Cherry scored 22 points, and Lakes' boys basketball team stunned host North Chicago 56-45 in Northern Lake County Conference action on Saturday night.
Garrett Klein added 10 points for the Eagles (5-15, 3-4).
North Chicago was led by Ricky Irby's 14 points.
Carmel 62, Sullivan 38: Kimahri Wilson's 17 points led four players in double figures, as the host Corsairs knocked off a 17-win Sullivan squad.
Carmel (17-10) also received 12 points from Syone Usma-Harper, 11 from Damone Williams-Gray and 11 from Bryce Moore.
Grant 55, Huntley 51: Hunter Waszkowski scored 18 points, Henry Kusiak added 16, and the visiting Bulldogs won the nonconference game for their fourth win in a row.
Torren Curry had 10 points, and Tavarus Williams chipped in eight for Grant (13-10).
Mundelein 51, Lake Forest 46 (OT): Conor Enright had 17 points and 5 assists, as the host Mustangs won the North Suburban Conference game in overtime.
Jack Bikus added 14 points and 8 rebounds for Mundelein (15-8, 4-5), and Scottie Ebube contributed 12 points, 8 boards and 2 blocks.
Lake Forest fell to 8-13 and 4-5.
Waukegan 65, Warren 60: Adnan Sarancic scored 29 points, but it wasn't enough for the visiting Blue Devils.
Waukegan improved to 21-4 and 8-1 in the North Suburban Conference.
Warren (12-12, 4-5) also got 9 points from Juan DelaCruz.
