Wolves capture fifth in a row

American Hockey League scoring leader Brandon Pirri scored two more goals to guide the Chicago Wolves to a 5-1 victory over the Tucson Roadrunners on Sunday afternoon at Allstate Arena.

Pirri, who paces the AHL with 38 points in 27 games, owns 7 goals and 8 assists in seven December games. Forwards T.J. Tynan and Dan Carr and defenseman Zach Whitecloud also scored for the Wolves (15-9-2-1), whose winning streak moved to a season-high five games.

Goaltender Max Lagace (7-5-1) posted 33 saves to earn the win. Tucson's Merrick Madsen (4-3-0) stopped 13 shots.

The Wolves return to Allstate Arena at 11 a.m. Tuesday for a School-Day showdown with the Texas Stars before hosting the Rockford IceHogs at 7 p.m. Friday in an Illinois Lottery Cup game.
