Boys soccer: Regional finals feature several rematches

The rematches are set.

St. Charles East defeated St. Charles North 5-3 earlier this season in DuKane Conference play, and the teams will meet again on Saturday in the Class 3A St. Charles East regional championship game.

The North Stars got there with a 3-0 win over Glenbard North on Wednesday while the Saints defeated Glenbard East 4-0.

Truitt Battin scored the first goal for St. Charles East (12-7) assisted by Nick Nelson, and he got the next goal unassisted. Gray Biddle scored St. Charles East's third goal and Sabastian Carranza had the fourth goal assisted by Luke Schnitker.

Streamwood and Larkin also will have a rematch after the Sabres beat Rockford Jefferson 7-0 and the Royals defeated Belvidere North 2-1.

The Sabres (15-4-3) got goals from Jesus Limon (two), Alex Chavez (two), Rolando Martinez, Edwin Peralta and Jose Banuelos.

Saturday will be a busy day of rematches as Dundee-Crown and Jacobs will meet again, this time for the Class 3A Rockford Auburn regional title. Dundee-Crown blanked Cary-Grove 2-0 on goals by Ivan Aviles and Peyton Story, assisted by Roland Dearborn. The Chargers improved to 17-3-3.
