Girls tennis: Stevenson wins sectional crown
At the Class 2A Stevenson girls tennis sectional Saturday, the host Patriots won the championship behind a first-place doubles finish by Alaina Kolli and Athena Kolli.
Lily VanDixhorn of Libertyville won the singles title.
Vernon Hills takes second: Host Vernon Hills placed second at its Class 1A sectional.
Last year's Class 1A state champion North Shore Country Day won the sectional.
Claudia Bilkey of Vernon Hills placed third in singles and the freshmen doubles team of Shriya Avula and Sasha Yuzkiv also finished third.
