Benet's Beaudreau leading

Weather forced the IHSA to halt play in all three boys state golf tournaments Friday, forcing the two-day tournaments to be cut to a single day Saturday.

That wasn't the case in the girls tournaments. In the Class 2A tournament, Benet senior Lauren Beaudreau will enter the second day with a 4-shot lead over St. Charles North's Megan Furtney and 6 shots over third-place Penelope Tir of New Trier.

St. Charles North leads the team standings, with Naperville North 18 shots back in seventh place. The Huskies are led by senior Mara Flaherty's 6-over-par 78.

Hinsdale Central is in eighth place, 2 behind the Huskies.

In Class 1A St. Francis is in sixth place, 20 shots behind first-place Bloomington Central Catholic. The Spartans are led by sophomore Katherine Lemke's 80.
