Girls volleyball: South Elgin reaches 20 wins

Haley Fisher had 13 kills for South Elgin (20-8, 7-0) and Kendal Richardson had 13 assists in a 25-13, 25-9 win over East Aurora on Thursday in Upstate Eight play. Emily Wellman led the Storm defense with 13 digs.

Huntley d. Jacobs 25-13, 25-16: Maggie Wallenberger led the attack for Jacobs with 5 kills. Rachel Kaczorow added 7 digs for the Golden Eagle defense.

McHenry d. Dundee-Crown 25-19, 25-23: Jenna Brown finished with 15 assists and 11 digs for Dundee-Crown (2-17, 0-12). Claire Muhvic had 7 kills and 5 digs. Alyssa Crenshaw added 6 digs, 2 kills and 3 aces for the Chargers.

Prairie Ridge d. Hampshire 25-16, 25-12: Maddy Reinke led the way for Hampshire with 4 kills, 1 block and 1 ace. Riley Seagren added 3 kills and an ace.

Neuqua Valley d. Batavia 28-26, 20-25. 25-10: Despite one of the best defensive matches of the season for Batavia (9-17), there was just not quite enough to come away with the win. Alexis Whipley had 5 kills and 5 blocks, Becca Robinson had 25 assists and 4 blocks, and Sam Juarez finished with 15 digs and 6 kills for the Bulldogs.
