Tuesday Morning Quarterback
Daily Herald Report
Name: Connor Skryd
School: Glenbard West
Year: Senior
Best thing about being an offensive lineman: We're up front and we get to be in the face of the defensive players. And I love getting to pull and go after the linebackers.
Worst thing about being an offensive lineman: Not being able to touch the ball, not even in youth league. That's why I liked playing center for a few seasons.
Don't tell my coach that: Don't tell him everyone on the team imitates the coaches.
If I could change one thing about football: Special teams. There should be more safety precautions. It just scares me a lot to see those big hits.
Team not on our schedule I wish we could play: I'd really like to play Glenbard North or Wheaton North. A lot of our guys know the Glenbard North players and grew up playing the Wheaton North players.
How I'll celebrate if I score a TD: I like what the Vikings did with the Duck Duck Goose thing.
Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat: I'd say Snapchat. I like keeping up with my friends and the news on there.
What I like best about my school: I like the traditions we keep going and the history we have.
Something about me that would surprise you: I hate when attention is put on me by others. I get pretty shy. I don't mind bringing attention to myself, it's just when others put attention on me.
Other sports I play: I wrestle and I throw in track and field. The only break in the year is the Sundays in between sports.
Favorite actor: Either Johnny Depp or Matt Damon. The Martian and Pirates of the Caribbean are good movies.
Favorite actress: Margot Robbie. I really liked her in Suicide Squad and (The Legend of) Tarzan.
Favorite athlete: (Minnesota Vikings players) Xavier Rhodes and Harrison Smith. They're both shut-down players.
Favorite musician: I like James Brown a lot.
