Boys golf: Elgin Academy takes 2nd at conference tourney

Elgin Academy finished second in the ISL boys golf conference tournament behind North Shore Country Day by only 4 strokes on Tuesday.

Johnny Yavari shot an 82, which was the third lowest overall score. Johnathan Vogt and Nikiel Karna each shot an 83, the seventh lowest overall score. These three players also made the All-Conference team.

Other leading scores for Elgin Academy were Derek Warren with a 92, Jack Peak with a 93, and Alex Berlin with a 99.

On the girls side, Neha Karna finished with a 92 and made the girls All-Conference team. Katie Peak was only 2 strokes behind with a 94.

The boys regional is next Tuesday at Prairie View in Byron and the girls regional is next Wednesday at White Pines in Bensenville.
