Kane, Entwhistle score, but Blackhawks fall to 0-2 in preseason

Patrick Kane and MacKenzie Entwhistle scored goals for the Blackhawks, but coach Joel Quenneville's team fell 4-2 at Detroit in their second preseason game.

Evgeny Svechnikov snapped a 2-2 tie with 5:45 remaining when he snapped a shot past goalie Kevin Lankinen.

Anton Forsberg started in net for the Hawks and made 13 saves. The only goal he allowed came when Detroit was a first-period power play.

Kane tied the game at 1-1 after Nick Schmaltz slid a pass to Brandon Saad, and Saad fed Kane for a one-timer at 3:30 of the second period.

David Kampf, Luke Johnson and 18-year-old defenseman Adam Boqvist all impressed for the Hawks.

• D-man Jan Rutta, who was listed as day-to-day with a groin injury, practiced at MB Ice Arena on Thursday. Forward Henrik Samuelsson missed practice with the same injury and is day-to-day.
